Portrait photography tips: 10/21/13
1.Hold your camera very sill of use a tripod.
2. Know how to use the manual focus or auto focus on your camera.
-Focus on the person, not the background.
3.If you focus on someones eyes, it can soften skin.
-Use rule of thirds.
4.KISS (keep it simple silly!)
-simplify the background.
-narrow depth of field.
-make sure background is uncluttered.
5.Get up close.
-Focus on expressive hands.
-show apart of the body
6.Alter prospective
-different angles:
-eye levels
-worms eye view
-birds eye view
7. Experimenting with lightening
-Side lighting
-back lighting
-one hour after the sun rises (Golden hour)
-one hour before the sun sets. (Golden hour)
Do NOT shoot into the sun.
On a bright and sunny day, go in the shade!
-Add color filters, (such as a blue tint).
8.Rules of compostion

-Place the subject in the dead center.
-Put the person way of center
-Add emotion
-Add blur
9.Take a series of photos=that will be the portrait.

-Look of camrea (off to the side).
-Look over your shoulder.
-Look up or down.

-Give them something to hold.
-Bring in a chair.
-Shoot candidly.
-Follow subject around.
